Description

We present an organic juniper needle hydrolate for perfumery, extracted from the plant with the botanical name Juniperus communis. The distillate bears the name Juniper Needle organic hydrolate for perfumery. Systematics places the species in the Cupressaceae family. Only the needles are used for processing, and their needle-like form is preserved to the end and arranged densely in whorls along the thin twigs. Cultivation in Bulgaria follows organic rules and excludes synthetic agents as well as mineral fertilizers. The aromatic profile remains clean during steam distillation, as solvents are left aside and the volatile fraction originates solely from the needle mass of the plant itself. The oxygenated volatile compounds pass into the aqueous phase, and it is precisely they that determine the aromatic direction of the distillate. The aroma remains at a medium level. The fresh pine side of the scent is complemented by a resinous tone in the overall profile. Monoterpene hydrocarbons predominate in the volatile fraction of the needles, led by pinene and sabinene. The hydrolate remains a clear liquid whose color varies within a narrow range from colorless to pale yellow. The grayish waxy bloom spreads along the stomatal band on the upper side of the needle. The choice of needles determines the faint color, because the water carries mainly colorless compounds, while the pigments remain in the plant tissue of the needles themselves. The organic composition excludes preservatives and colorants from the finished liquid. In addition, organic cultivation and the narrowly defined raw material yield a liquid whose composition includes only plant volatile substances and pure water. The medium level of the aroma and the clear liquid form summarize the character of the juniper distillate.

Storage

Store organic juniper needle hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for perfumery products, preferably dark glass, which protect the perfumery hydrolate from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
